-Born in New Orleans, LA. – Currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

-Primary instrument is Tenor Trombone. Also proficient in playing Alto and Bass Trombone, Tuba, Baritone Horn, Euphonium, and Keyboards.

-Composer and arranger for all music styles and configurations of musicians, from the Solo Performer to the Symphony Orchestra.

-Member of Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show Band led by Doc Severinsen for two years. Lead trombonist with Doc Severinsen’s Big Band for over a decade

-Guest soloist with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony and The Minnesota Symphony Orchestra.

-Performed live on four continents.

-Performed and recorded with many musical luminaries. These include: Doc Severinsen, Don Henley, Ray Charles, Dizzy Gilespie, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Billy Preston, Rosemary Clooney, The Temptations, Gladys Knight, Louie Bellson, Joe Williams, Chaka Kahn and Stevie Wonder.

  1. Hi Mike, It’s a REAL treat to watch you play live. My first exposure to your playing was at the Redondo Beach jazz festival on that overcast and cool-breezy day on the pier. You’re lively playing and love and knowledge of music shone through the clouds of that day. I hope to get a chance to interview you for the “City of Angels Music” website.
